Harry,

I was perfectly ready to accept a Bush win, until it became obvious that there was no Bush win. The margin of uncertainty in Florida is much larger than the delta in the counted votes.

Bush's is the sleaziest campaign I've seen since Nixon. They were ready to launch a massive campaign of righteous indignation about the electoral college, until they discovered that they lost the popular vote.

A few weeks ago hand counting was the right thing to do, but now that it works to Bush's disadvantage, it is fraud and error prone.

The Gore campaign has abided strictly by the laws of Florida, but the Bush campaign is trying to get the Feds involved.

Until we change all of the negative campaigning, until we stop all of the compromise your values and start begging for your money type of campaigns, the only people who will want to run are people sleezy and dirty enough to run those types of campaigns.

I don't have much of a problem with negative campaigning as long as it is honest. Its dishonest and distorting campaigns that I find annoying. Just about everyone distorts their opponents views and statements and record. Some capaigns go to out right dishonesty. As for the money, it costs money to communicate to millions of people. I see flaws in our current system but I can't find a system that I think would get rid of those flaws without causeing new problems that are as bad or worse.
