Quite true, however, if Gore makes it in on the basis of selective handcounted counties in Fla., then the opposition, and even many of his typical Democratic supporters who are fair minded, may be fired-up like in NO other circumstance.

I agree with you on Gore. However, Bush has shown far more class. Also, he has an ability to build consensus and to unify. I believe he will have a chance to bring things together. I don't think Gore has a chance. He isn't even liked by most democrats and by none of the republicans. He will be a lame duck from day one.
