.. beyond the obvious ones arising from the fact that we are both nextdoor neighbours to the US ... here's one - the Liberals have a great electoral machine somewhat comparable to the PRI, they rob other parties of immediately saleable platform issues, stake themselves out the great 'moderate' centre, and yes i do believe indulge in a little corruption when it suits them and in such a way that they expect to get away with it, and for some years they have had power with which perpetuate power ... not that far apart, imho.

Comparisons can be made between Day and Fox as well - the personally religious thing [of which i am wary in both cases, btw], the banner of an 'Alianza/Alliance', a push for individual responsibility and leaner fairer government, etc ...
