Mike, I agree that hand count should not be limited to democratic counties only. That's certainly unfair. I'm sure hand count in republican counties will show additional votes for Bush. The point I'm making is the machine error rate of about 1% is significantly higher than the gap of 0.005% between the 2 candidates. The tiny margin renders it impossible to declare a winner in the state of FL. I can't draw the same conclusion for other states without data of machine errors in those states.

It's truly an impasse in FL. I see no fair remedy there.
