Hi limtex: Would it be prudent to short for the next 3 days as a hedge to your core holdings....sounds like a possible option. Good luck my friend....enjoy your remarks.

<<Please give me a reason, any reason to feel even mildly optimistic. >>

IF it ends this week with a concession from either party, you will see a snap back on the naz...maybe the mother of all snapbacks, who knows....I think right now, the uncertaintly that this could go on forever is what is killing the markets. I think both republicans and democrats have made it clear that at this point they would rather see the opposition win, if it meand an amicable end to this mess. If an amicable end happens, it should be a good thing, wouldnt you think?

Certainly both parties must be aware what this is doing to the country, so hopefully, one of them pulls a "for the good of the people"....if that happens, I for one do not wish to be siiting on the sidelines with cash....those numbers could go up as quick as they came down.

Price, length of the selling, time of the year. The market is irrational in the short run, but rational in the long run. What's happening now doesn't matter too much to long-term investors. IF you are thinking long you should be putting money to work. I'm happy myself we are seeing all this selling.

We are still in the early stages of an industrial revolution we call the new economy. The productivity gains we have been seeing are not going to end anytime soon, they might even accelerate. Look around you it's easy to see the wealth that has been created in the last decade, I see no reason that this new revolution that has just started will not continue that wealth creation for the next decade. You all might think I'm bearish all the time, quite the opposite.
