Nihil, the sons take the sins of the fathers, as in this case. I think the visitation refers to G@d holding their actions against them for 3-4 generations, while favoring those who do well for a 1,000 generations. Please do not start a religious war out of righteous indignation because sons have learned from their fathers and it is noticed.
