Andreas, my general impression was 3.5/5 (5 being best, 2.5 being neutral).

I think that any other company in any other industry executing as AMD has been in the last ~2 years would be valued much higher. Unfortunately AMD suffers a LOT by competing against the core profit center of Intel.
- both in perception (hence share valuation) as well as $ and resource allocation/competition against Intel.

Intel is a hugely competitive company. If anyone here thinks that Intel has become the US auto industry in the 80's, setting the stage of for the Japanese to come in and take over they are seriously deluding themselves.

I am really impressed with AMD's flash execution. Unfortunately I am not that happy with Jerry's quick mouth and big ego. I think that Jerry managing the company in the background with some one with more PR skills handling the analysts/CC's etc. would be a much better combo (case in point: '1.5GHz in Jan' comment out of Jerry's mouth). I get a feeling that Jerry does not care too much for the average AMD shareholder. But I think that he cares a lot for AMD and fighting against Intel.

AMD Flash by itself would probably be worth twice the current value of AMD today. But this is not important to Jerry. He needs flash to keep the war chest full during temp setbacks in the processor wars.

I don't know if you were looking for such a detailed response from me ;)

P.S. I can't say if Dirk specifically said or not (re 3X clawhammer), but I can say for sure that the competitive performance graph (which also had the P4- blue box) had Sledgehammer at 3X a 1Ghz Athlon around June/July 2002.
