Cynics are only idealists who have been disillusioned by reality. I foolishly thought that candidates conceded elections after a recount as did Nixon, now being lionized as a paragon of statemanship. I know very little about Nixon's concession but I suspect, given his later behavior, his decision was not done for the better part of valour but rather because he probably knew that he would still lose in a recount, and so he did not push the point. I think Bush believes that he will lose in a recount. I think Gore believes he will win in a recount. So who has been mocking our government? I'm sure you didn't mean me. I've read the Constitution many times. Both before and after I had sworn an oath to defend it. Anyone who thinks they are above the laws of this country. I was not accusing anyone specifically. ted
