David,

You might want to read the Republican messages more closely. They're as contradictory as the Microsoft witnesses were. On the one hand, Bush's people say that they want to get this whole count wrapped up as quickly as possible, and they blame the Democrats for slowing down the certification. But on the other hand, they say that if the hand recount leads to a Gore victory, they will demand more hand recounts in other states as well, although that will delay the final decision.

It is quite obvious that behind the rhetoric being fed to the public, both sides just want to win this election. Right now, the margin of victory in Florida is 0.005%, a number three orders of magnitude smaller than the margin of error (5% disqualified votes in Palm Beach county).

The election WILL be decided, don't worry. It will be a close victory for one party or the other. When it is decided, 48 million people will be on the losing side, and 48 will be on the winning side.

There is no reason to claim that one side is treasonous, as has been suggested repeatedly on this thread, or even anti-American, as has also been suggested. These guys just all want to win the election.

Dave
