I believe that if the vote count in Florida (once it comes <I believe that if the vote count in Florida (once it comes to its full conclusion) is in favor of Gore, the Bush camp will graciously concede.

You may believe that but the Bush camp has made it pretty clear that if the Gore Camp pursues this, they will pursue 3 other states [and it is their right to do so; nor do I have any problem if they choose that approach]; but I would have some difficulty in calling that gracious.

This is counter to what the Democrats stated they would do. Already the Gore camp has stated that they will pursue (frivolous) law suits to their conclusion.

Well I think that they have stated that they have not ruled out civil action; you seem to have interpreted that as they said they will. Your insertion of the word frivolous is a little premature isn't it? We haven't seen any suits filed...it would be quite difficult to say a priori say they are frivolous. Currently we have some individuals file and we have the Bush camp has filed; the Gore camp has yet to file anything. I think there are a fair number of people that are finding the 14th amendment challenge as difficult. I would be premature in calling it, the Bush camp filing, frivolous. But it looks like there is a lot of potential there.

They have stated that unless Gore wins, the outcome will not be the will of the people.

If you can find me that quote in a credible source, I would very much like to see it. I've read nothing that comes close to that at all.

Regards,
jttmab

Who am I quoting when I refer to Mr X?

Medicare:

We propose to let (Medicare) go up at 2 times the rate of inflation...when you hear all this business about cuts, let me caution you that it is not what is going on" - Mr X's proposal on Medicare.

"They are cutting Medicare" - On the very same proposal when voted on by Republicans.

"It is a $270 billion cut in Medicare" - Mr X on the very same proposal when voted on by Republicans.

Taxes:

"I will tell you this: I will not raise taxes on the middle-class to pay for these programs."

"It might surprise you to know I think I raised them too much but I am a mathematician at heart."

A short time later: "I take full responsibility...for what we did. It was the right thing to do."

"I have no intention of raising taxes"

Welfare:

"And I have a plan to do even better, to end welfare as we know it" - The man(who vetoed the welfare reform bill passed by the Rebublican congress and later signed it taking credit for it)

Campaign Finance Reform:

"I am committed to curbing the influence of money in our political system."

Oddly enough it was Mr X selling the Lincoln Bedroom to big money donors.

The Scandals

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky" - Mr X

"Indeed I did have a relationship with Miss Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong" - Mr X

Lying

"If a President of the United States ever lied to the American people he should resign." - Mr X running for US Representative in 1974

"I misled people" - Mr X in the Lewinsky address. (Translation: I lied to the American people)

"I issued a number of denials to people I thought needed to hear them" - Mr X, Grand Jury Testimony (Translation: I wanted to cover it up so I lied to you- even under oath)

"I am trying to be honest with you and it hurts me. Now..."

Mr X's Grand Jury Testimony (We know all too well)

To make matters worse, the Democrats are now SCREAMING that
the Republicans can not file a suit
for a recount because they didn't file within 72 hours, like the Democrats..

That only shows the Democrats knew they had lost, and were looking for a
legal way to steal the votes, while the Republicans knowing they had won,
saw no reason to demand a recount.

<<Damage has already been done to our country. The world looks at us differently than they did before. How can we step in to oversee another countries democratic processes when we can't handle our own.>>

Oh please don't use that threat. They laugh at us because they are jealous of our system. If this event occurred in half of the world, there would be armed revolution in the streets....which they do when the losing side gets over 30%!

And for civilized Europe, home of the 5 republics of France, how many in Italy now(50?), and the neutral Swiss?

Good try at spin David, but the closeness of this election and the control shown(even with lawsuits) astounds the rest of the world...and you know that.

Get a grip, man! As a Republican, I sure as hell hope the Bush camp doesn't concede graciously. If we won the election, then I want it.

In fact, if we didn't win the election, I want it anyway, anyway we can get it short of fraud.-g-

And if we didn't win it, and can't possibly win it, THEN I want Bush to be gracious.

American history is replete with examples of bitterly contested elections. We usually just see the pretty parts because history for children and the man on the street is pablum. Anybody who doesn't want it bad enough to play hardball doesn't deserve it.
