Um... Good questions.

I understand one of my friends who I semi-learn from taught the guy who is winning the Robbins Cup at the moment, a Dallas area guy. I was thinking about trying it myself this coming year, but it may be a pain in the neck. If I do it I shall have to give up SI, certainly. It's quite a bit of work to do it right.

Anyway, I understand this fellow in Dallas was up around 374% as of June when he became pre-occupied with outside work; he was wildcatting oil wells. Mark Cook, as I recall, won it without trading in December with a 600% plus gain. That's a serious contest.

I learn from a lot of people, I travel a lot to try to pick up stuff. I guess I do not have one "mentor", and I do not teach and I do not trade for anyone outside of family so I have no bias one way or the other. As a result I cannot suggest a teacher to you.

However, you post frequently about trading options. I would think that you would be a quick study. Why don't you do this, pick up some books on Futures Trading and get a grasp on it. When you trade Options you probably consider many of your positions as having limited Risk. Get comfortable with the concept of unlimited Risk but controlled Risk and you are much of the way there.

99% of trading Futures is controlling Risk. Once we get over the fact that trading against the Market is not cool then a lot of trading Futures is already built into your belief system as an Options Trader and the crossover should not be difficult for you.
