Pat, Here is a link to a Robertson Stephens Next Generation Network refutation to all the analysts concerns about Capex reductions. It is dated Oct. 3 but I don't believe it has been posted previously. It brings up many points worthy of attention. I quote "No, carriers spend because they have no choice. Competition forces all carriers to invest...either invest in the future or risk falling behind.
In light of the serious dislocations throughout the carrier industry, it is easy to wring ones hands...Unfortunately this simple analysis is too simplistic.Carriers have to pay if they are going to play."
