Would you want Bush to step aside at that point?<<<<< Yes Gw should cede if he loses Fla. after the overseas ballots. Tonight on the evening news. Christopher indicated, that he felt Al would cede if he loses Fla.; but he didn't rule out other lawsuits, it sounded like after hand counts and overseas ballots. Baker also said GW would cede after the overseas ballots if they could come to an agreement that Al would also. So it looks like it probably will be next friday. And that is what we need. There will be another opportunity for the loser. The losers party should rally around the winner also, to give the president a chance. Hopefully the market will rally Monday. Doing a recount honestly and above board will determine the truth. And the US Marshalls and the state officials are there to insure the honesty part. There is a difference between honesty, and the ability to determine the truth. The problem isn't so much honesty as much as it is ability to get to the truth. Lets say you need to find a solution good to six decimals. But you only are given figures rounded off to two decimals. Can you find a solution good to six decimals. No, the answer will only be good to two decimals. In our case , we have no way of determining a clear winner if the vote count comes within the margin of error in the voting and counting process. Therefore, determining a winner with a vote total difference of less than 1 % when the machines counters are only accurate to 2% is not possible. Nor is hand counting the answer if the vote total difference is less than 2%, and hand counting is only said to be accurate to plus or minus 3%. And hand counting a select few favorable to one side but not the other could well worsen the margin of error because you are eliminating some of the random error from one side, but not the other. In our voting case, 6 million ballots were cast. Even a 600 vote difference means you need a counting process that is good to plus or minus .015 percent. We need a counting method approx. 100 times as accurate as the methods we have now to determine a winner. There will be no clear winner no matter what we do. We can only guess who the winner should be.
