Don't feel anyone can tell you what you should do except get off margin.

george, consider trimming a like percentage off each of your stocks as opposed to betting on which ones to sell off entirely. less of a gamble imo.

>> I will have to sell some tomorrow to meet a 8,000.00 margin call in your opinion I am trying to decide which of the following to continue to HOLD AMCC AMGN GLW JDSU ORCL QCOM RMBS or TXN I also have PFE and WMT

No one can predict the relative performance of these stocks in the short term, which I hope is the amount of time it will take to resolve the election problem. Catcher's suggestion of trimming off equal portions of each has a lot of merit - it's the same approach we used to pay off the margin debt in my wife's account last month. Another way might be to rank your holdings based on your personal assessment of their long term potential, keeping in mind that larger cap stocks with solid earnings may well be the first to recover.

Good luck, George.

george..."margin call"

best not to meet a margin call by an infusion of new monies.
better to sell positions in which you have the largest loss. this will allow you a tax loss to offset any current or future gains.

good luck
