Rudy, Re: Going Against the New Business Trend Called "Outsourcing"

I know, I know, it cuts across the grain of conventional wisdom, but it recognizes that fundamental supply & demand have changed since the eighties. Therein lies the genius.

FWIW, I got the same reaction from officers of Murphy Oil four years ago when I predicted, in a strategic planning meeting, that Exxon would merge with Mobil. They told me that, although it sounded sensible, it went against the current business trend towards smaller, more focused independent operators, and they thought such a possibility was highly unlikely.

Carpe diem!
