Reliability testing on AMD's 50nm gates began well over a year ago. They published a paper on their progress in November of 1999.

well that's interesting.

40M x 2 x 90asp = 7.2B in cpu revenue. that's a lot. by comparison, q3's 6.9M CPUs yielded $625M or only 2.5B annualized

suddenly $90 asp's don't look so shabby if AMD can actually sell anything close to that number of units.

I think they said total capacity at 40million CPU's next year with both fabs, NOT both fabs with 40million chip capacity.
