Gore was being criticized for being a policy wonk so at least in the second debate he "dumbed down" a bit. I could tell. But he wasn't his authentic self so it didn't work. He came back in the third debate and was most impressive, though a lot of people prefer the Bush frat boy charmer act. And believe me that's an act too. It's all acting during a debate and on the stump. I even wonder if Bush really has that much of a Texas accent. Afterall he was an east coat preppie just like me. Some of it's a put-on I'm sure.
