I really hope this damn election mess is resolved in a day or two. I've been checking in on some of the SI chat boards and things really seem to be getting nasty. The amount of polarization is terrible, especially considering that its over two candidates of such questionable quality in the first place.

The fact that the market is tanking certainly doesn't help either. It just helps make the total financial/political environment uglier. Toss in the shorters and other pundits talking of a major market crash and its enough to unsettle just about anyone. Gottfried, thanks for trying to keep this thread on focus.....but I guess few (myself included) are interested in that right now.

To all of you......may tomorrow bring us some good news, for a change.....either politically or financially, or preferably, both.

Regards,

Knip

<I think you meant to say Thievery in action. BTW, even the liberal NY Post calls it such. Talk about not see the
writing on the wall.....>

The NY Post is right of Attila the HUN!

I voted both for Gore and Lazio (after finding out from one of his managers that he was not affiliated with the D'Amato crooks) and I think there are certain requirement for an election.

1) We trust the ballot results. Whether republican or democrat, we must have confidence in the procedure. Double or triple checking gives confidence.

2) People should vote for whom they intended to vote for. Confusing procedures are defined by whether people get confused.

3) The law, as interpreted by the courts, should be upheld. The courts should never be involved in either politics or results, but they are our only assurance that the electoral procedures and processes were adhered to.

Personally, I will be happy to see this resolved and will live with the results, but be outraged unless the process was fair.

Hi Brian,

I'm not one to "Off Topic" a lot.

I think that article is right on and this market meltdown is another way of saying back off. What scares me is Clinton's dogged never say die has trained Gore to plow into oblivion with out shame.

I wonder who has his button?

I think the wealth creation of the market may well be his only leash. It is obviously getting tighter!
