Here's a suggestion for election night in 4 years. Maybe there wouldn't be such a need to call the states so early if they adopted this format for their reporting:

Yup. Too bad Gore didn't pick Slick as his running mate. We would be placing bets on whether his Administration would be shorter than Wm Henry Harrison's.
