One thing I kept telling myself when Clinton had his "no ask no tell policy concerning gays in the military was, I'm glad i never voted for him and though I respect the office I despise the individual.

Gays in the military, ah, now there's an interesting topic. We are only now being allowed to understand in our whitewashed histories that some of the greatest warriors in history preferred the coarser sex, as it were. Take, for instance, a Grecian by the name of Alexander the Great. Now, that dude was awesome. Almost as much ground in his conquests as in all of America's imperial endeavors. Not anywhere close to the sublime Genghis Khan, but we won't compare apples and oranges. Alex, you see, had a wife, but that was a mere political decision. His real love was his second in command Hephaestion.

In his childhood or teens Alexander became friends with a handsome boy his age named Hephaestion. It is possible that they were lovers. Homosexuality was accepted in Greece at that time; Alexander's father had many male lovers. All that is known for sure is that Alexander and Hephaestion remained devoted to each other throughout their lives.

What exactly was your point about gays in the military?

<You owe allegiance to the office of the Presidency but your heart does not have to support the elected official>

I guess in my mind I am saying I will support him through thick and thin without thought about whether I like him or not. Liking him really isn't an issue as I don't see us hanging out and having a beer or a cigar or anything:)
