Jim,

I rather like Santa Clara County, but it isn't a good place for me to live full time. Too expensive, earthquakes, and not enough space for the kids.

Can't beat the work out here, and there is enough stuff going on at Stanford to keep me entertained almost continuously. (Don't know what I would have done the last two years without Stanford down the street.)
