Duke, don't take it all so personally. The Democrats and Republicans are both looking for millions of dollars for legal fees and other expenses related to trying to milk those last few votes to secure a victory for their candidates. They're not going to take the money from you. At least not directly.

Three million dollars is not such a big amount to a presidential candidate. To put it into perspective, Microsoft alone contributed more than three million dollars to the Republican party for this year's election. Big Oil market caps will gain many Billions of dollars if the Republicans win the White House. The pharmaceutical companies (don't forget that Bush Sr. was CEO of Eli Lilly before his big-money backers got him placed in the CIA) would give their left arms to get Bush in the White House. So would the tobacco companies. Those pesky environmentalists, civil libertarians, and factory workers would pony up cash aplenty to put Gore and Leiberman in office.

Maybe Nader was right when he said both parties are in the pocket of the Washington establishment.

Of COURSE they are! If this is actually News to you, then I understand why you're so upset. But don't be fooled by the lopsided rhetoric that would have you believe that the Republicans, or the Democrats for that matter, are squeaky clean.

By the way, I don't fault the Republicans or the Democrats for the way they are both demanding recounts in various states, and filing lawsuits, and basically doing everything in their power to win this election. They both have a lot at stake here.
