Nemer, you are right: "we've started out with canidates for President that are WAAAAAAY short of being presidential material " But these are the candidates we deserve. Since the advent of television, our candidates must be tall, good looking, smooth talkers. And now that we are so judgemental of every aspect of their past lives, we scare away excellent people who, being human, have a minor flaw or two that they do not want exposed for all the world to see. All we have left are superficial men who can deceive us successfully.
