JC,

Personally, I may would like to attempt to Barrett's life (or switch to better bang-for-the-buck-AMD<g>) if I was a corporate manager and I was upgrading 10 000 systems to P4 1.5GHz, and a month or so after, for the exact same price, I could get the same chip at 33% higher clockspeed, which is almost 30% performance improvement, out of my 25 millions investment.

1 GHz PIII is cheaper and perform about the same as a 1.3GHz P4 would perform... it's a 200MHz effective MHz gap and the P4 won't cost the same as the 1.0GHz systems.

But... you know all that... why the hell didn't you put a <g> at the end of your line in order to prevent me from answering this dull and evident reasoning... ;-p
