Thus the key issue is whether the Tuesday deadline for a recount will be extended or not. Perhaps it need not be extended. According to the statement on the home page of Florida's Sec'y of State [SOS] (thanks Stuart), assistance will be provided between now and 5 PM tomorrow for the manual recount (the point is obviously moot if Bush's proposed injunction goes through...but according to the reports I've read, the constitutional basis for such an injunction are flimsy at best). Still, there are 400+K ballots which need to be counted in the next ~30 hours. Improbable. And the statement from the SOS expresses a strong belief that the law is quite clear and rigid regarding the 7-day certification requirement --------------- Biotechs are getting absolutely creamed today. Perhaps the preverbal last shoe to fall....
