Rich1, This is the exact opposite of the bull market when we were near 5000. Then all news was veiwed as good news... even the bad news wasn't all that bad and the macro economic issues were largely ignored. Now, bad news is BAAAAD!!! and good news is just less bad..but still not good. And macro issues are overshadowing stocks... Gizmo may be right.. if the economy is indeed weakening then we could be in for a long fight... and if I were Gore I'd let Bush take the Presidency... like the stinky beast it looks like it's going to be. It's a no win. OG
