Just got a phone call .... kind one doesn't like to receive ... The gent who called told me there was to be a graveside service for his brother, Edward, today at 11CST ... just brought to mind some memories ... Charles got out of high school and enlisted in the Navy during the Korean Conflict ... when he was discharged my dad hired him for our company... Charles retired and went on SS two years ago with the distinction of having a single job for a span of 40+ years ...... He went to work for my dad, worked for me after I took over the company, worked for the guy I sold out to and retired .... that kind of loyalty to a company is indeed rare today, no ? btw ... he (Charles) was MY hero when I was in college ... could consume 30+ beers in the course of a Sat nite ... and I introduced him to his wife, to whom he has been married 42 years ...... The maternal and paternal sides of the family were Irish immigrants waaaaay back yonder ... from Killarney (sp) or some such ... gone til later .....
