I do not disagree wrt. Samsung. It looks like the DRAM industry is going through another consolidation.

It is curious that DDR engineering has turned out to be substantially more difficult than RDRAM engineering but it is not surprising. RDRAM is an completely engineered systems solution while DDR to date is merely an engineered component.

It would not surprise me to find out that Intel has been encouraging Team DDR in its efforts because they know ultimately that DDR is a dead end. When you can get your enemies to divert massive resources into a failed initiative life can be very good! Do you suppose that Intel has been paying Sherry Garber and Jack Robertson? <LOL>
