What next for Palm Beach County? Carol Roberts, a Palm Beach county commissioner and election board official, called for a countywide manual recount early Sunday because she said a sample hand review Saturday indicated the possibility that hundreds of voters' ballots went uncounted last week. "Given the importance of the election and the fact that the present margin is approximately 300 votes in the state, I believe the people of Palm Beach County have entrusted us with the power to voice their right to participate in their government," Roberts said. Several thousand ballots in Palm Beach County had been mechanically rejected last week because machines could not detect punched votes in the cards. Republicans have suggested a manual recount in Palm Beach could take as long as a month. cnn.com

Yes a legally elected candidate who commited perjury. This time there is less apathy because with the market tanking (LOL CNN said b/c of HWP lower earnings - spin of the day), people are being personally touched. People are now saying, 'oh let's just get it done', 'I don't care who finally gets into office'. This is what happened with the Roman empire. The republic crumbled because the people became apathetic. They WANTED an emperor (big mistake there). Later due to apathy the Emperor took upon himself more authority and more authority (read here - democratic platform = more authority to goverment). Fianlly the greatest empire up til it's time crumbled from WITHIN. At it's root was a lack of absolutes (read here - unbridled tolerance). How sad....see the parallels?
