Intel is spreading 2GHz P4 FUD.

Actually they could release a much faster P4 and avoid looking like it is a mediocre chip at the intro, but they choose not to.

This all they can do to minimize the embarrassment of the 1.4GHz 217 mm P4 struggling mightily to keep up with the 700MHz Duron on CPU benchmarks.

I doubt if it is Intel FUD. Intel has very little to gain by getting too far ahead on P4 MHz even if it could. It seems more like Register screwup to me.
