Well jhild I didn't just make this up.

There was a count. Bush won that.

There was a re-count. Bush won that.

There was a partial hand-count. Bush still won that.

I mean when exactly did Gore have anything close to a win that was supported by actual votes? I must have missed something.

Now if you believe that selective recounting will serve the "will of the people", then we have a problem. And that is in a fair contest, where all votes in all areas are subject to random errors, Bush won. We can count, and count and yes, someday in someway Gore might have "won". But did he really?

I don't think so.
