yep

was a good call, never did go after the 8pts...just had a hard time finding the 200 other than a psychological round number, and that was originally why i questioned it, certainly 208 offered me plenty of time to hit it as it spent the early morning in the 206-208 area. the sixty min bollinger opened up and the door was opened. interesting that it decided to close there

as a side note, i too know what the "permabull" went thru, after reviewing yer timeframes, i found that i trade pretty much the same frames, which also leads me to conclude, "musta just been me". was interesting to see the 20/60 movavg correlation on the next lower chart, i hadn't noticed it. would normally just bop between timeframes to see where they were. but in any case, i too found that "the ta had changed", becuz alot of the fifteen min buy signals i was taking were getting womped, i recognize the downtrends obviously, and may have just misjudged its strength, but when that happened, i posted on another thread that i was taking time off cuz what was working, now was not. i spent alot of time looking for a new method, oddly enough, a trader friend of mine, had suggested the five min chart with the 20/60 relationship on it and a few other special sauces, he had discovered it independently, i watched for a long time . alot of times those alerts were setting the next shorting opp vs buying...with the special sauces as part of the system, we went thru the process of backtesting it, with results varying on mkt direction, as the backtest was strictly a long system.

as another side note in regards to all the claims of chart painting, and stops being placed where they shouldn't be, i often make a judgement on whether to include a "tail" of a candle in a trendline or not, do you have any thoughts on this...ie, if the tail is the only thing that broke the line, should the line include the tail or just the body to reflect the real trend? i know there are two schools of thought to the trendline construction in this regard and wondered what yer thoughts were.

also have some thoughts on the 20ma approach that has been mentioned, some might be interested in adding a 14rsi (i know, i know how cheezy) as part of the system. there are definite relationships between the movavg and that rsi, across all time frames, imo. its something i began to notice with a lil help from a constance brown book, who references andrew cardwell. i'm still studying the adx as it is discussed here, will look thru yer site one more time to see if i can find pointers, one disappointing aspect of this thread is that the previous links often don't work(unless thats just me too, lol), or is it a server space issue, but as one of my previous uses, i used to use a 10 dmi +/-, but never paid attention to the adx, just using xovers.
