Are you saying that Al Gore is a rapist?

jhild said nothing of the sort, and you shouldn't pretend he did; and he didn't defend Clinton's moral record at all, he merely pointed out the dubiousness of Bush's claims in that regard. And I agree with you, incidentally: Clinton is a rapist.

But if you don't see the humor in two guys, Bush and Cheney, who have five arrests between them (have you ever been arrested? How many people do you know who have? Arrested three times, no less! If you're caught three times, how many times have you probably broken the law?) presenting themselves as Mr. and Mr. Good Clean Americans, you lack a sense of irony. There is no question that on the Good Clean American standard, Gore wins. Still, it's a silly standard, and if Bush hadn't made a big deal of it because he wanted to run against Clinton instead of Gore, understandably enough, we wouldn't even be talking about it.

Still, it's all moot. What matters now isn't that a couple of guys who've been arrested a lot are probably going to run the country. (I mean, that one of them will help run it and the other will pretend to.)
