I'm suggesting that Gateway selling a lot of one variety does not reduce the quantity available of the other.

I think it does. It's the same chip with a different multiplier. With unlocked multipliers, the 1.2 GHz chips are identical.

OK, now I get your point. Nevertheless, it is not clear to me they are different products until final test. So, the argument is still valid.
