Re Bush CEO of Eli Lilly?

Sorry, this was incorrect. I had read somewhere that he was CEO of Eli Lilly & Co. In fact, he was just on the Board of Directors from 1977 to 1979.

You won't find this information on any official Bush biography sites though, because Bush took some heat while VP for urging the Treasury Department to make technical changes in how companies with operations in Puerto Rico were taxed, an issue that was very important to Eli Lilly. Bush eventually had to withdraw his request because of conflict of interest.

Also, Dan Quayle's family owned a substantial piece of Eli Lilly & Co.
