Dave, they are going to appeal, all the way to the Supreme court if necessary, IMO. And well they should. But first, they'll lose on tomorrow's deadline issue, I'm afraid. An inherent unfairness, such as recovering lost punchcard votes, only from counties picked by one partisan party, must not be introduced into this process. The only viable options, for the sake of fairness and the good of the country, are an end now without hand-counts included, or handcounts across the state. Is this last option pro Gore? I'm not sure.

If I knew the numbers within the counties both pro Republican and possessing ballots with "chads" from which to gather votes and glean a victory, I'd know who'll resign first if the hand-count goes statewide due to Gore's efforts and Republican determinism to keep it fair.
