Jessie Jackson did not get to speak at his rally in PB this afternoon. He was warned there were not enough police to protect him and was removed from he stage before he had a chance to speak.

Volt,

If you're going with a ban, how about a 24-hour test ban? Or better yet, let people use the "Ignore" button. It looks like both Keith and Rose have been blocked; I wish you'd reconsider.

For whatever reason, nerves are a bit frayed right now. How about we all take a deep breath, step back and reevaluate? This is (in my opinion) the best SI thread I've followed, due in part to the divergent personalities and life experiences. Even families have fights, but they work through them. I vote that we do the same here.

Just my 2 cents,

jpgill

Looks to me like Keith made the mistake of sticking up for himself. Now, normally that is an okay thing to do. However, in a societies where diversity is not valued and control of the masses by a few is important, sticking up for oneself is a sometimes fatal error. This tendency to control the masses and wayward opinions repeats itself in human existance time and time again. You see it in countries, corporations, and now chat threads.

So many folks say "if they were in (fill in the country of your choice) under that rule, they would have stood up for their rights." In reality, few would have, because the consequences would have been banishment or worse.

Let me know when you let Keith back onto the thread.

Ciao,
