Hy-Tec - a household name!

OK, give one of these to Junior for Christmas - I double-dare you!

It'll cost you $400, plus...

... plus bail after he gets caught ripping a Sony label off of a product in a store, to avoid death by embarrasment.

J.N.N. we don't know, in fact, that the Hy-Tec unit represents more than a few prototypes.

We won't know that until we see sales figures.

Who the hell is Hy-Tec, anyway?

If you wanted to break into the music player business, one way to do it is to buy a few prototypes from a third party, go to Comdex, and see if they bite. By not doing the engineering in-house, you can spend more money on marketing.

If it doesn't work out, you didn't spend a bundle on engineering, to reduce costs.

If it does, you spend the money on doing your own engineering.

Not saying this is the case - it's just one scenario. But you don't know any more than I how many units Hy-Tec may sell. It's all in the future.

But who the hell IS Hy-Tec?
