We are probably days from introduction of 850/900Mhz Durons and/or 1.26/1.33GHz Thunderbird - probably coinciding with P4 announcement.

Wy wouldn't intel use a high profile show like Comdex to introduce the PIV? preferring instead to wait to the 20th, which is an ordinary monday? Has anyone seen/heard of any PIV demonstrations at Comdex today?

Al

Charles,

I don't think the Tbird yeild well enough at 1.33. The 1.2 is even hard to get*. My guess is that the palomino will be announced at about the same time as the P4, but will run at 1.2 GHz max (little bit like the tbird intro) for the begining and will only be sent to reviewers with availability commencing in January. Availability of 1000/133 and 1133/133 parts will come up in December along with a set of 760 mobo from GigaByte, Asus, FIC, MSI, Iwill(Ali), and Abit (more likely in January)
EDIT : from Aces : ocworkbench.com

* I suspect that AMD is keeping the best yeilding parts to gateway and micron and they do 133/1200 with the remaining.

Max

I can't wait to buy my Palomino+K7-Master combo
