Iso, I'm sure that your not a right wing extremist, but...

<<a massive racketeering operation>>???????

<<If Gore takes power as a result of this 4 country ballot box stuffing contest, it will be the most gigantic political fraud ever perpetrated on the American people.>>??????

The truth is that manual counting can count partially detached chads that a machine would not count. This is not ballot box stuffing and certainly not a massive racketeering operation. Such inflammatory exaggeration rather than rational insight is not helpful here or to our country.

The selective recounting of only heavily democratic counties will most likely yield more votes for Gore. Not because of dishonesty (although the potential is there), but because of the fact that increase in votes for both Gore and Bush will be approximately in proportion to the machine counted totals of each. Democratic county => more Gore machine counted votes => more partially detached chad, newly counted votes for Gore.

As I said before, manual recounts in only Democratic counties is inherently unfair. Unfortunately it is probably also legal. Republicans let the deadline pass for manually recounting Rep. counties. It appears that the Democrats outsmarted the Republicans. And may be on their way to an unfair, but legal victory.

It is still my opinion that Gore should concede on Friday, based on Bush's expected win in the machine recounted votes (+ absentee votes).

Take care all. Winkman

BigDog, I agree that the drillers will again have their day. But it certainly wasn't today. (vbg)
