There are always, in both bull and bear markets, stocks on their way down and stocks on their way up. The averages aren't what we buy unless one's playing an index or index based fund. Few time their exits or entry's to match the optimum return of market or individual stock occilations, rises and falls. Therefore its always a stock pickers market, though I'll admit its harder to pick winners in a down market and the converse is equally true.

At about 2:00 ish today I called a trading friend to note that there were over a million new Nov. call contracts on the 45 csco's with the stock about 47 -48.. there was no way it wasn't going to run later that afternoon. The big money is always front running their intentions, sometimes its just wishful thinking, other times its transparent.
