Wise words Greg. One reason for having above average valuations is the sheer amount of money being put to play in the stock market while we are seeing a technology revolution.

However, I agree, via lumps en la cabasa, that 1999 was lejos demasiado. When this election fiasco is over & the street realizes that growth is slowing from a torrid pace & this qtr & next qtr will have tough Y2K comparisons, we will return to the bull.

And there will be money sloshing around for tech stocks.

What was so special about 99 that led to is happening this year?
The Fed's fluidity infusions from the Oct 98 Asian crisis and the Y2K non-event.

If 99 was so special why are we selling down so much this year?
Because of the artificial runup from the Fed's infusions that led to a mania.

99 has to be wiped clean, so we can get back to reality.
I agree, that is why I said that 2200 is the 10-year bear bottom, that would wipe out 99 and return us to the "reality" that you mention. Only problem is, the problems the Asian problems the Fed "solved" in Oct 98 are still here or even worse. So, if we get down to 2200, Asia crashes, followed by Latin America and Europe. So what does the Fed do? Lower rates? Is that why they have kept rates artificially high, so they have some wiggle room?
