Nothing in Florida has been illegal........due process allows for handcounting of ballots.........to deny the rights of the voters is worse than murder , it's antidemocratic.

The murder of the Constitution ranks higher than common murders.

Indeed it does. And that document starts out with "We the People . . ."

It is the "We the People . . . ." that elects the Representatives. There can be no law that can ultimately subvert their will. Attempts to rush things through before that will is accurately measured are doomed to failure for those that try. Consequently, I think that Bush better take his best shot, because this looks like his only chance.

It is telling that the response to Gore's statement that he felt neither he nor Bush would want to be President if either was improperly elected, was to send Karen Hughes to the street to decry any attempt to insure that there was indeed any complete reckoning completed.

Evidently Bush doesn't share Gore's passion for the Republic. But then he isn't trailing in that critical vote, so why should he. So much for Bush's moral authority. It looks like in this regard he is just going to be Clinton II.
