HP's Earnings Announcement and SanDisk's Business THIS IS THE YEAR OF PC ACCESSORIES!!! I think the fact that the PC Box makers are struggling has little to do with the success or failure of SanDisk. PC boxes are really only commodity items nowadays and the novelty has worn off. Most people have already made significant investments in their PC's and in setting up and paying for high speed access. Today the excitement is finding new killer applications that will enhance the PC and Internet experience. And DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY is clearly one of these killer consumer apps that plays off the installed PC and Internet base that exists worldwide. The triangle below tries to depict the solid base on which flash memory is seated. It also indicates how flash memory will ascend as the component parts of the triangle expand. Increasing PC use and facility, growing Internet access and the acceptance of high resolution digital imaging and its related value chain will all help propel flash memory.
