When will one of these idiots either grow up or get some decent advice?

Neither one gives a damn about the country or has any clue as to what leadership is all about. Its been obvious since at least Saturday that the ultimate outcome is that all 6 million votes in Florida will be recounted, by hand, and the winner will be president.
Why couldn't one of them gone on the Sunday am news shows and say that all votes statewide should be recounted by hand, call off the atack dogs, may the best man win, and both begin to plan for the new administration they would run the country with, if successful. There is no need for the lawyers to get involved here. All they are doing is delaying the ultimate result and killing the markets. If either of these idiots would have done that on Sunday (or better still, both together), the loser in this election would be a big favorite in the next.
The sad fact is, neither is presidential material, and we will have to live with them for four years.

Dan, I would agree with you if I had faith the ballots would be counted correctly. However, when they start trying to determine "who" the voter intended to vote for, etc. there is great room for not only error but mischief. Also, the whole country should be treated the same way. To have partisans (both democrats or republicans) making a determination of what someones intent was is very dangerous. I believe we (as Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford both did) should accept the 2nd count plus the absentee votes and declare a winner. The loser should be a statesman and concede. With the absentees we still don't know which of them would win and won't know that until Friday. But, this legal infighting and the war of words is very harmful to America and it's reputation. Also, the last two times Christopher and Daley have gone on TV with their threats they have cost me a lot of money as the market tanks before our eyes while they threaten. I will bet most of us got hit with that. I admit I have no respect for Gore. I rate him a phoney and is putting his selfish interest before the national interest.
