"there is a rather large group of SI members who regard what has been happening on this thread with a growing sense of concern, and yet have not been willing to speak up."

It is good to know that we the poor and wretched on the porch are the concern of so many here on SI. I realize it is presumptuous of me but I can probably speak for most of the helpless in thanking you and the others for their altruistic concerns.

NOW - with that in mind, I am sure your concerns would carry you to the point of disclosing to our poor masses exactly what PUTS you have purchased or maybe just a few of the SHORTS you are entertaining.

And just for the record, in ALL OF MY STUPIDITY I AM LONG THE FOLLOWING:

RMBS - Thousands of shares

INTC - 1300 Contracts

MSFT -Calls 100 contracts

QCOM - Calls 60 contracts

NOW I PUT MY MONEY WHERE MY FAITH IS -

I am sure you have done the same and will tell us.

MOUTHING OFF IS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO HOW ACCOUNTABLE YOU ARE!

Humbly yours, V and the wretched Porchers

Poet, you seem to be announcing the death of the secular bull. Some are even claiming that we're already in a bear market. But if you look at the broader index, the s&p500, it is volatile but only down single digits ytd, hardly indicative of a market crash. May I suggest that what we have witnessed with the nasdaq is merely a massive but temporary sector rotation, which history shows can correct in an unexpectedly short timeframe. The political uncertainty you point to will be measured in terms of weeks, and while that is of great importance to options traders such as yourself, it is not threatening to those with longer term investment windows.

Your cautionary comments are valid, but they apply primarily to those who traffic in short term options and/or try to gain leverage though the use of margin. These folks are extremely vulnerable to even short term downtrends. But that's an ever present risk in both bull and bear markets.

jmho,
uf

Poet, It never ceases to amaze me when someone like you makes a comment like, " I'm concerned about the losses suffered and that they will continue to mount unless you do something to protect yourselves." What right or superior knowledge do you think you possess that will allow you "save our poor soul's"???? What nerve ??
I'm also tied of hearing about the fact that you attended an option seminar as if that's a big deal. All I do is trade options but I don't preach to others unless asked.
If this thread is such "an accident" why bother even to slow down. I for one don't need your "first aid".
