ICG Commerce Wins Enterprise Award as Tops in Internet Achievement; Award Caps a Remarkable Year of Growth for the e-Procurement Services Provider
PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- During a posh gala last Thursday evening at the Philadelphia Convention Center, ICG Commerce was honored with the Enterprise Award for Internet Achievement by the Eastern Technology Council. The award is given to the company that has reached its business goals as a result of creative and effective use of the Internet. Rick Berry, president and CEO of ICG Commerce, accepted the award. Coincidentally, ICG Commerce was honored on its first birthday.

"It's been a truly amazing year for ICG Commerce, our employees, and our customers," said Berry. "We are honored to be recognized by the Eastern Technology Council as a company that has excelled in leveraging the Internet as a tool to help customers improve the way they do business. I accept this award on behalf of our over 380 dedicated employees worldwide, whose dedication, commitment and ingenuity have enabled us to poised to be a global leader in e-procurement."

The ICG Commerce procurement solution delivers real savings to companies by lowering the hard unit costs of the goods and services that they purchase as well as the transaction costs associated with making these purchases. The savings that accrue to customers are derived from favorable pricing based on the aggregation of spend across the ICG Commerce global customer base, dedicated sourcing and supply chain expertise and a flexible Internet-based technology which streamlines and automates all transactions.

ICG Commerce's selection for the award was based on a number of factors, including how the company creates and drives value for customers, impacts the overall market segment and leverages the Internet effectively.

"The Enterprise Awards is, by far, the most widely attended, most competitive honor for leaders of technology companies in the Mid-Atlantic region," said Rob McCord, president and CEO of the Eastern Technology Council. "We are very pleased to honor ICG Commerce for its exciting growth and strong record of achievement over this past year."

yes, i saw the same news coverage in the evening news -- it is out of control. Objectively, i think the bush camp has a stronger reason on their side. Gore should just kick himself for not winning, he should have brown nose Nader and get him on his side. Nader was the difference, and nothing else.
