Iso, looks like you and BigBull have made out well by going to a lot of cash. I misjudged this dip and even after selling covered calls on almost everything near the last small peak, am still almost 10% down from my all time high.

OT: Sorry you took my reaction to your (IMO) inflammatory exaggeration personally. I have no grudge against you. And BigBull's feelings about the activities of some blacks makes his move to the only state that still flies the stars and bars appropriate. (G)

As I've said before several times, McCain was my man. Yes I have played devil's advocate to some extreme opinions of Gore. And I accept the commonly held view of Bush as the intellectually scion of privilege, a twig rather than presidential timber.

My vote for Bush was a vote for a tax cut and against more federal entitlements. But more importantly, Bush may be the "uniter" he calls himself. What this country needs, even more after this divisive election, is bipartisan common sense. It was heartening to see 4 freshmen House members ( 2 d's and 2 r's) on PBS news tonight voicing this theme. What we don't need is the litanies of slanted half truths and extremism we've seen from both sides.

Take care and shalom. Winkman

isopatch, The two best solutions at this point is either to accept the second machine recount and stop where we are, or alternatively hand count a third time the entire State of Florida's vote....

My guess is that the recent market dip is really related to recession concerns. Fingers crossed, we get a fed rate cut say in February. If energy prices do not spike wildly this winter, then I'll bet on a rate cut....

Some of the gas-to-power stocks are starting to pull back a bit price- wise here....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
