Winbond (2344) said that the firm is considering building only one 12 inch wafer fab instead of original plan of two plants. Moreover, the firm may postpone the construction of 12 inch wafer fab because of uncertainty over the DRAM outlook associated with difficulty in fund raising. Nanya Technology (2308) and Vanguard (5347) also intended to delay construction of 12 inch wafer fab. +++++++++++ Taiwan shares end down 0.6% at 5737 amid continued political and economic uncertainty, as well as recent Nasdaq volatility, say dealers. Many investors took profits after initial Nasdaq-triggered rally to 5942 as wary of keeping money in bourse for long term.(
