The RBOCs have also made very big contributions to
the Democrats. They really know how to massage both
sides. I don't think that the FCC policies would
differ significantly from Kennard to Mike Powell.
The biggest change is the House Chairmanship going
from Bliley to Tauzin. Bliley was a much stronger
supporter of the 96 Telecom Act.

Hi elmat,

Bush winning (I think) CLECS will be further squeezed. DSL's case will weaken further.

We're going to give you the "broken record" award around here. <vbg>

The interesting thing about all this lovely talk about pro-competitive stance for the future direction of the FCC, is that the only significant market for the ILECs to compete in is the business line market. Us peons, or is it we campesinos, or us paisanos, (I can never get it right) hanging on to our universal service, might as well face the facts, we don't matter to guys like Nacchio, the maniac who controls my dial tone. :)
